We grabbed a box of donuts from our beloved Donut King and hit the road. Borderland State Park or Bust.
We were meeting the Stake Primary for an activity but didn't want to miss the chance to go for a bike ride on the carriage roads around the Ames Mansion. This was our first family off road adventure. The kids did great! We did push our bikes up a few rocky hills but nobody had blood running into their socks so we survived!
My back seat driver was in prime form.
This kid has an opinion about everything and plenty of questions too.
We did take a few breaks to take in the views...
And snap some groupies...
This park has it all- beautiful forest, wide open fields, lily pad covered pond and a carriage road so you can access it all.
The Primary activity included a tour of the Ames Mansion.
I could do this everyday.
And then it was time for our bug hunt. Little Chief was in 7th heaven.
He got a big kick out of this potato bug the Entomologist passed around!
Then we hiked down to the pond to find some pond critters.
Little Chief was kind of dying with anticipation!
Abizella and her friend C. just played it cool on the bridge.
A very fun day for all. I think we should come back when the leaves start to change! Pops would love this place too.
