Parting Is Nothing But Sorrow

The worst part of Grandma Sandi and Grandpa Bob coming is that they eventually have to leave.
We tried and tried to convince them to move in across the street. Wouldn't that be the perfect life?

But alas, too many logistics and realities to make that happen.

Instead we all must nurse our broken hearts until we can be altogether again.
Grandma and Grandpa had to leave in the morning which meant bedtime was farewell time.
Lots of love and hugs to go around...
 and around...
 and around!

We love you Grandma and Grandpa! Come again soon and often!

Snuggles and Such

By far, our favorite Grandma and Grandpa activity is snuggling.
We simply never can get enough!

Also, Pops put the final touch in his masterfully crafted basement-
THE T.V.!

And we kept our Battery Friday tradition of pulling out all our old favorites and loaded them with fresh batteries.
 Then back to the snuggling!
Jaws took really good care of Grandma by tucking her in with a warm blankie.

And then jumped in next to her...

No more rest for the weary!
Back to the races!
Don't Wake Daddy and Guillotine for the win!

We also took a little break for the Andrus' Christmas Party/Sing-A-Long
It's Beginning to Feel A Lot Like Christmas!

Newport Mansions

We decided we better go check out the Newport mansions while they were all decked out for the holidays. Okay- so maybe just the adults in the party wanted to go look at some ancient opulent dwellings and the kids got dragged along. The expressions on their faces don't lie.
But the good news is that the Breakers tour has gotten an over-haul since we were last here (and left in a fit of fury with arms full of tantruming children). They now offer self guided tours with head sets and you get to choose if you want the dry adult version or the fun kid version. The production was well done and the kids were raptured by all of the cool stories and info.
There were a lot of little interesting details that you had to search for in the house.

And the Christmas decorations were spectacular!

Here is a picture from the room that won the Girl's Choice Award- the Ladies' room. The wall paper is made from platinum so it will never tarnish. Fantastic!

Here is a pic from the room that won the Boy's Choice Award- the Train Room. The trains were set up on the 2nd floor balcony that over-looks the ocean. They couldn't have been in a more timely place on the tour. Jaws was spiraling into oblivion. He quit the audio tour in the first room so he was at the end of his rope. These trains saved the day!

 Next we walked the grounds...

And then things got really really silly.
And deteriorated into a 5-way dog pile.

And we finished off with portraits with our little pocket-sized friends...
