Pops' Campfire Fried Chicken

Pops has been fixing to fry up some camp fire chicken all winter.
We were grateful for a Spring-ish day to accommodate his fancy.

And even though all the actual cooking takes place outside, there is plenty of kitchen action as well!
Also, Jaws learned how to man an ax.

He actually chopped down an old termite riddled tree.

Well done!

Mischief Makers

Time to trap a leprechaun!
We pulled out the contents of the entire recycling bin this year.
We are unstoppable. We will catch our leprechaun.

Foiled again.

Pandemic Pi Day

Today marks the one year point of the Pandemic. The world was starting to unravel at out last Pi Day party: schools were being canceled, work was being shifted to remote, International travels was banned, businesses shuttered. It all happened at our last Pi Day Party, which was fertile ground for conversation. But honestly, none of us saw it coming. Here we are a year later. The vaccine has been approved and is being rolled out and we are all anxiously awaiting our turn for the shot. But we did not let the Pandemic foul our Pi Day plans. We just moved them outside and limited the guests to the kid's friends.

Abz made the prize ribbons. We each made our pie entries and we shuttled off to the Lambert's for some Pi Day fun.

We even brought home a few to snack on...

Botanical Wanderings

The high school botanical club organized a guided nature walk behind the elementary school. All you have to do is show up and scan QR codes for information about nature's wonders. It was super fun.

We even had a rare showing of brotherly love.
And for a bonus, we found a little ice skating rink to top off the fun.

Swim Season

Swim season comes with many benefits besides solid vascular health.
There are also the waffles!

Being as there is a Pandemic in session, parents aren't allowed to view any of the fun, but I do take great joy seeing these fish dash to the car in their flip flops, drenched towels, face masks and flip flops.

And I love the morning line-up of push-up pals. Don't let Tad fool you. He gets peer pressured to join the fun. I have video evidence.
