Winter Break

This has been the most pleasant week of the year. It has been REALLY cold. I think we will break a record for the most consecutive days below 20 degrees. So with one exception, of a trip to the YMCA, we have just stayed home. We have watched a lot of musicals, read books, worked on the blog, played games and practiced the piano and cello. It has been lovely.
We took down our Christmas tree today. It is always a treat because we love to burn it. It lights off like a bomb because it is so dry. It was too cold to cut it up outside, so Pops just used his saw inside.
Before...
After!
Impressive, right?

Focus

I've been working like a dog to catch up the blog before the New Year. Tonight I was back-tracking into October while we watched Fiddler On The Roof. Jaws was not a major fan of this film so we set him up on an iPad in the other room. Sometime after 9 he stumbled into the family room and said he was exhausted and wanted to snuggle. I just wanted to put the last touches on a post so I told him to wait just a minute. He asked again (and maybe again) until finally he said, "Mom, can you focus on my exhaustion please?!"

How can I deny him? This pic is taken from the archives, but you have to admit, he is a little angel baby when he is sleeping.

More Christmas Fun!

I love Christmas day. We do nothing besides eat big meals and play with the kiddos. It is one of those rare opportunities when we all get to be together and we don't have to clean the house. Even better is that I have the week off between Christmas and New Years so the party continues.
Tadpole has been dreaming of the day he could line up all of his clones and go into battle.
As soon as Jaws opened up his Mermaid Horse he started to beg for a bath!
...followed by lots of rides on the Rainbow Unicorn!

Pops' gift to Superkid- conceding that Superkid is taller than him. But actually if Pops had fluffy locks equal to Superkid's they would be neck and neck.
We spent hour upon hour building with Legos.

And did I mention the new train?!

Tadpole had ample material for Lego Star Wars reviews.

We got our selves a Utah Man!

And a Hufflepuff!

We also got our first WHITE CHRISTMAS! It was pretty much a miracle; the forecast called for rain, but sometime in mid-morning the rain turned to snow!

This was the first Christmas that LC got Legos and he showed some serious tanacity putting them together. He just got a few pointers from Pops.
LC also got a robot-helicopter.

The boys set up a major Star Wars battle.

Tadpole has a serious defensive line-up

Superkid finally got the rest of the parts necessary for is sailboat. He spent 2 days putting this bad boy together.
After it was done, he just laid back and admired it.
 Busted.
And we love the games!

And I love to snuggle my little polar bear!
