Bring On The Bunny!

We love holidays around here!
Tad is always asking what holiday comes next and Easter is one of our favs!
To get the party started, you gotta get your eggs colored.

Superkid was determined to get a crimson egg (Go Utes!)

Abizella made a special egg for me with my favorite color and my name on it!

Tad always puts a lot of thought into his work!

And let's just face it, playing with fragile eggs and bowls of dye is just fun!
Seriously, who thinks up these traditions?!

This little Toad sat this round out (in style)

Abz prepped the bunny snack and Easter poem and we all crossed our fingers for a huge haul!

Derby Days

We take it pretty seriously around here. Building an awesome Pinewood Derby car demands serious studying, planning, engineering, workmanship and about 23 trips to Lowes. But it all is worth it to see this kid cheer his amazing car against some fierce competition.
His fan club even came into town to see the race live!
We all watched with baited breath while the cars lined up heat after heat on the state of the art brand new track to see who would come out victor!
Turns out it wasn't exactly Superkid this year.
But he was pretty happy to come in 3rd place, which is good.
Nobody likes the kid who wins *every* year.
And as Pops pointed out, nobody likes *that* dad.

Open Plunge! Snow Roll Season.

The little Toads were super excited when earlier this month Pops announced it was time to re-open the hot tub. They immediately stripped down, jumped into their swim suits, and ran out to the hot tub where Pops stood standing with the hose to fill it up.
They quickly found it to be a little bit nippy out there and came in to correct the error of their ways...
It took a call to the heater-man and a few days before the water was habitable, but well worth the wait!
Snow-roll anyone?

Wishes Foiled *AGAIN*!

Sadly, those pesky Leprechauns got the best of us AGAIN this year.

It's too bad too.
We had a pretty good list of wishes going this year.

Topping Superkid's list:
1. $10,000 bill. Nice.
2. 50 Pokemon EX cards
3. Pilot's license

Abizella's wish list:
1. Mansion with lots of servants
2. 100 American Girl dolls
3. To be rich (so she can buy more American Girl dolls)

Tadpole's Wish List:
1. 100 baby Daniels
2. House full of candy
3. $100 dollar bill

Little Chief's List:
"Nofing."
That's what he says.
He is good as long as he has his sister to take him on "roller coaster" rides.

And this little guy is just eye candy.

We may not have a Leprechaun and all of those fancy wishes, but at least we have our looks
(and no one is getting pinched today!)

Life of Pi

What a delight to have Pi Day off work. Seems like a holiday that should command the respect of humanity and bring the work force to a halt.

The Little Toads and I took the opportunity to order some Pizza Pis and have some buddies over to party.

I spared the children the "Beauty of the Circle" lecture and instead let them zone out in front of the TV (see, I'm not as big of a nerd as you thought)...
On some level the kids appreciate the beauty of the circle anyway. Take Tad, for instance, and his picture of the most perfect circle nature has to offer. His adorable, soft round face!
Pops offered any child who could explain what Pi is a Reese's Peanut butter cup. Without a second of hesitation Superkid whipped out a sheet of paper and began a lecture on Pi. The kid is brilliant, I promise we don't talk about mathematical constants every day.
I guess the, "Beauty of the Circle" Lecture does pay off!
And of course, I let them eat their Pie!
Okay... Superkid and I ate the whole thing ourselves. We're kind of Pi buddies.

I Feel Like a New Woman

This baby slept for 5 solid hours last night and *I did too*!

One Creative Cat...

When she is not designing her own patterns (complete with instructions and material stuffed inside and bar code on the back)...
This little triceratops is lurking behind cabinets looking for prey...
...to feed her baby triceratops.
Abizella, you crack me up.
*LOVE YOU TO PIECES*

All Dressed Up, And Nowhere To Go

What's in that kid's milk? Seriously, a mustache at 1 month?!

One Step Forward... Two Steps Back...

It feels like bailing out the Titanic around here.
Doing the laundry alone is a full time job. My best strategy is to just keep it moving.
I was in the middle of folding a heap of clothes on my bed when Tad came in to do some laundry diving and clothes angels. I banished him in a desperate effort to preserve my efforts to regain some order. Tad muttered something about making his own pile to play in as he sulked out of the room.
Fine with me. Off you go kid.
Later that night I went up stairs to tuck in the kiddos only to find that Tad had emptied *the*entire*contents*
of his drawers onto his bed (UGH!).
I turned to him with *frustration* raging behind my eyes. In his defense Tad logically stated,
"Well you wanna know know how you could have kept this from happening?!"
*Mercy*
