Old Faithful and Fire Hole

What this family needed was a good night sleep.

We kicked off the morning with a trip to Old Faithful. There was a cool ranger's tent with animal hides.

And Old Faithful lived up to her name!

What a show!

Next we toured the Old Faithful basin and observed the many hot pots available for our viewing pleasure. I could do this for the rest of my life.

We next started chasing a childhood memory of mine. I remember swimming in the Fire Hole river when my family came when I was Abizella's age. It was a natural water park and I was determined to find it so we took a spin down Fire Hole Lake Drive. We found more spacious hot pots- this one kept bubbling like it was going to blast into a geyser at any moment.

We then miraculously stepped up to this geyser right as it blew its top. Great Fountain Geyser! This Geyser lasts up to 60 minutes and is enormous. It also is not as faithful as Old Faithful so we feel fortunate to happen upon it.

It was a really good show!

As soon as we left Great Fountain Geyser the next Geyser down the road, White Dome Geyser started exploding. It was a spectacular show.

We stopped at Firehole lake and walked around a few more smaller geysers.

Then we hopped back into the car in persuit of Firehole swimming hole- and we actually found it! It is in Firehole Canyon Drive!

We stopped for a few pics. But we were all pretty exhausted from the day's labors and it was a little too much on the chilly side to want to take a dip.

Se we headed down the road to view Grand Prismatic Spring.

We next headed back to the campground. Jaws and I scampered around Lewis Lake for a bit.

We all enjoyed a satiating meal of Sunday stew. And S'mores, of course.
