Flag and Dance Party

We love Glama and Bampa's 4th of July Fireworks spectacular!

While the food and fireworks are sensational, we come for Bampa's flag ceremony and Uncle James' dance party!

Cousin Nick helped retire the colors from last year.

Cousin Mike, as a veteran and the oldest grandkid, always gets the honor of raising the flag.

Bampa played taps on his trumpet too!

But best of all is catching up with my cousins! I wasn't very good at snapping pics- but I did at least get one with my cousin Elizabeth. We had a great time chatting and dancing the night away!

Abizella and Harper are the only 2 girl Davis cousins in town.

Grandma's at Last

We wait for this all year. Being with our grandparents is absolutely the best part!

Look Out Utah!

Here we come! 

After security, there is no holding us back. 

After 2 hours of non-stop jabbering, this kid finally crashed hard.

This kid caught also caught a few winks

And just like that we were on the other side picking up our car. 

This year we were received with courtesy, friendliness and prompt service. 

How bazaar. 

I have a good feeling about this trip.

Happy 42 Years Pops!

Pops and I came home today to find dinner in the making. 

Abizella had the potatoes and carrots peeled and cooking on the stove top, Superkid had set the table. Both had completed their tasks without being asked.

I give Pops all the credit. He is seriously the best dad ever. 

These kids are so lucky to have him!

He is also the best husband of all time! Not a day goes by that I don't think that I am the luckiest girl. Not only is he smoking hot, he is also really cool. He's always been cool. Back in the day we used to sit for hours on the deck of the Granite High Pool "life guarding" and talking. We have always been friends. When we were first married, we used to go for walks by the Jordan River and chat about life. The last couple of months we've resumed our walks and chats. This is easily my favorite part of the day. I love being with this guy!

We LOVE celebrating this guy's life too. 

Superkid and Abizella enthusiastically offered to do, "Heavy, Heavy, Hangover" Pop's old head with the cast iron super-sized dutch oven. Nothing but love here.

Seaside Fireworks

One of my favorite 4th of July traditions is the Hingham Harbor fireworks. Nothing says America like fire over water. They always fall on the Saturday before the 4th of July, which is usually the Saturday that Pops works in the temple. But not this year! This year Pops got to come too.  This year we had a a nice big crowd- the Andruses and Petersons came too! That means we had nearly as many adults as children. Usually it is just me and Big Abi.

I had a great time with this little chunky neighbor of mine.

Jaws wasn't a fan of the loud fireworks, but as long as he had his ears plugged he was pretty brave.
