The Baptism

We decided to hold Abizella's baptism while we were in Utah. We wanted to surround her with as many of her favorite people as possible. This took months of coordination as our family is now scattered in Seattle, Indianapolis, Texas, California and Colorado. We feel blessed that so many of our loved ones were able to convene for the her big day. 

Abizella insisted upon curls. It is the one point of fashion she is willing to suffer for.

Abz and Pops practiced the plunge...

That morning, Abizella also informed us that she was singing a solo. We should have seen this coming. Every time the primary sings in Sacrament meeting, Abz runs to the pulpit and pulls the microphone to her mouth. She and Grandma worked really hard to get the song just right.

One more practice plunge., and we are show time!

Abi shared the day with Cousin Asher. I too was baptized the same day as my cousin. Maybe that is why I hatched the plan. Cousin Asher actually turned 8 the month before Abizella. He waited the month and traveled from California to be baptized. He even missed the first two days of school. We are glad that he waited for Abizella to turn 8 (this very day!) so they could share their day. 

We were thrilled that our New England family, now living Colorado, could join us as well. These guys were there when we blessed our little lady, they mean the world to us.

Cousin Lizzy is practically a sister to Abizella. We love her and the entire family.

Cousin Mia is Abizella's kindred spirit. She joined us all the way from Virginia!

And all of our wonderful grandparents were there! 

Grandma Sherrie played the piano like an angel. 

Grandma Sandi and Grandpa Bob are always there to support us! 

Bampa and Glama made all of the arrangements for the baptism.

We were also thrilled to be joined by Aunt Jenny's family (from Texas), Uncle Brian's family, Charlene's family, James and Nick, Aunt Carol and Uncle Larry, Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Dave, Aunt Louise and Uncle Dan, Cousin Leslie's family and all of Aunt Mindy's extended family. It was an amazing outpouring of love for these two kids.

Abizella, your father and I love you with our whole hearts. You have brought us 8 years of happiness. When we held you in our arms exactly 8 years ago, we couldn't have dreamed for a more loving, creative, passionate, faithful, bright, helpful daughter. You are our glue. Your brothers look to you for fun, encouragement, and acceptance. We are happy with your decision to be baptized. 

We feel blessed that you are ours. We're holding onto you tight!
