St. Patty's Pranksters

We were ready for those Leprechaun tricksters this year! 

We baited them with cabbage and chocolate sauce. 

We devised intricate, enticing passageways leading to sticky traps.

Then we prepared our lists of demands and waited for those leprechauns to fall into our traps.

 Much to our dismay, the leprechauns got away again!

Since we were all home Social Distancing and feeling a little stir crazy, we decided to bring a little leprechaun cheer to our friends. We wrote leprechaun poems, taped them to boxes of Lucky Charms, pretended to be leprechauns and doorbell ditched our friends. I'm not going to lie- The Toads initially thought it was a dumb idea, but they were laughing their little guts out by the time we raced away from the first doorbell ditch.

 We made 6 stealthy drop-offs.

 We think we are hilarious.

We heard reports from kids all around that leprechauns were real and that they had the cereal to prove it!

Overwhelmed

I’m not going to lie, being entirely responsible for a full-time job, the spiritual, secular and physical instruction for five kids is a bit overwhelming and even had me wake in a cold sweat in the middle of the night. We’re getting in the groove, but I miss our social crutches. I sent the 3 youngest outside and told them not to come back inside for an hour. Now I’m trying to finish up some work- with Jaws 8 inches from my face. It’s not the Corona virus I fear most 😬

Pi Day- The Tidepool Toad Holiday

We own it. 

This day is ours. We make the pies and we have the T-shirts!

This year Superkid made his Tollhouse pie, Abz made her Baked Alaska, Tadpole and Little Chief each made an Oreo Ice Cream Cake pie with chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce and whipped cream, Jaws and I made a Raspberry cheesecake crumble pie and Pops made his Banana Cream pie. 

They were all DELICIOUS.

Swim Team Awards Banquet

Congratulations to Superkid and Abizella for a fantastic swim season!

Superkid got the "Unsung Hero" award for his happy nature, willingness to jump in and swim any event (even if he swims the wrong thing) and his constant cheering from the side lines. He just never gets ruffled and does what it takes.

Abizella had a great year too!

She got the "Freestyle Queen" award because she just kicks butt.

These are the signs that the high school hung up on Main Street to celebrate the swim team's accomplishments! They crushed it. They were 2nd place in their league.

Guess who loves Abizella so much that she tracked Abz down in L.A. to say hi to her at the mall?! 

Abizella went with the school orchestra on a cultural trip to L.A. 

Aunt Mindy can't have a relative within 2 hours of her without tracking them down and giving them some love.

I love these two so much that they share a neuron in my brain. I am constantly mixing their names up because they hold such a prized place in my heart💓!
