7 Glorius Years

We've been counting down to this very day FOREVER. But it finally came. Little Chief is 7 years old today. This calls for a serious party!

Starting with Pizza from Hingham House of Pizza.

Next on to PRESENTS!

Then it turned into a costume party!

And something we all love- CAKE!

We all adore you Little Chief.

Here are 7 ways!

1. You are so athletic! This year you learned to ride your bike and roller blade. Both of which were easy breezy for you because you were determined to get it done. You love to run and jump and play. I love to watch you swim. You are so strong!
2. You are my snuggle bug. You always love a good cuddle and I never leave for anywhere without a hug and four kisses (2 on each cheek). When I come home you yell "Mama!" and then nearly bowl me over with a giant hug! I love coming home to you.
3. You are an awesome student! You are killing the spelling tests and your reading is fantastic! You love to read to me at night. Some of your favorites is, "I Yam A Donkey". You also love to read about animals. You are also doing very well in science and math too!
4. You are so creative. You have such an awesome imagination. You can make a play episode out of anything- sticks, refrigerator magnets, crayons. Usually you are singing or chatting the entire time.
5. You love to play with your brothers and sister. There is nothing better in the world than watching you all play together. Last weekend you played a post-office letter writing game where you all made mail boxes and wrote letters to each other and delivered mail back and forth all afternoon. It was the most fun ever.
6. You are a fish! You love to swim- in the ocean and the pool. It brings such joy to your heart to splash and dive and swim. You love to surf and blow bubbles. Water is truly your medium.
7. You are the friendliest kid around. No matter where we go, you make a friend. You are kind, fun, inclusive and imaginative.  People like to be with you. Especially your family!

Tad-isms

Tadpole is time oriented guy. He is usually the first kid up. He springs out of bed, gets entirely dressed for the day (including socks, shoes and coat) before he comes down to go to the bathroom. He is not much of a breakfast guy, but he packs a snack, brushes his teeth and hair and parks himself in front of the clock with an iPad. It is a two full hours before he leaves for school, but he doesn't want to miss it. He also cracks the whip on LC to make sure he is not late either.

Also- he continues to be a fountain of whit. We found a dead chipmunk in the yard and without dropping a beat he said, "Let's name him Rabies."

I love this kid.

The Kid Who Can Be Bought

Hello world! Finally Abizella is typing! 😀 Last night I was sitting on a couch reading my mother's old blog posts. When I say old, I mean old, like ten years ago old (I'll get back to that in a minute.)  I was waiting for Pops to come back with the Chinese food and it was about ten at night. After laughing my head off at the wonders that my mother had written all those years ago, I stumbled across "The Kid Who Can't Be Bought".  Pops commented "It was a shameful day" After reading about Superkid getting bribed by my father but to no success, I decided to get super kid in on the action. (who, by the way, was a total blondie way back when) I handed the laptop to my brother when he walked and told him to read.  I watched Superkid crack a smile and then look up at pops and say "Republicans are good, Democrats are bad, can I have candy now?" Pops smiled and said "Yes, you can have candy" Exited to join the action, I said "Republicans are good, democrats are bad" Pops then said that I could have candy too! :) "Great job Superkid, it only took you ten years!" I said. 😄  Now that I told the story I can say happy 10 year anniversary Tidepool Toads!!!

The Sweetest Thing

Here's Superkid playing it cool.

The other day Pops said to Superkid, "I got you the best mom. You are so lucky!" Superkid sincerely responded, "I think you're the lucky one."

He is not only the cool. He is the sweetest thing.

70 Eggs

We like our hard boiled eggs. But 70 eggs feels ambitious. 

Todd assures me that he can take down at least half of them before he leaves. 

We certainly have the enthusiasm to color 70 eggs!

 We called the kids back in from the dirt to get to work. We were amused to see that the Target bag outerwear and morphed into Target bag superhero wear!

 So fantastic that Tad's eyes nearly popped out of his skull (good catch, Tad!)!

 Andie and HH rolled past Mike's Pastries and brought us home some 

LOBSTAH TAILS. Oh ya!

 And Cannoli!

 While our little sweat -shop of children polished eggs...

 The adults polished off some pastries!
