Jimmy Carter's Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Made these for President's day. 

Kinda feel like we missed out when I accidentally skipped the page for Amy Carter's peanut butter cookies. Doh! These cookies gave you are real appreciation for the evolution of cookie recipes since the Carter administration. 

But these oatmeal treats actually made a tasty breakfast bar. 

We were happy to enjoy them with Holly and Abi who, after 2 years of President's Day cookies with the Toads, are officially "in" on the tradition.

Breakfast with Tad

I was so happy that I could go to Tadpole's Breakfast share! 

He has such a wonderful voice in his writing. I read everything in his pizza box full of projects. He has such fun phraseology. He is also very concerned with following all of writing rules and prompts his teacher gives him. The combination of his entertaining voice and the attention to technique make his writing very pleasant to read.

Sky Monkies

The middle sized boys tried out their monkey skills at the YMCA.

Jaws chose to run laps below.

These guys have gotten so good at the sky trail that it is barely a challenge anymore. Now they just do it for my own entertainment ;)

Guess who had a big Valentine's Day surprise at the lab?!

I seriously got the best one. I LOVE Pops! 

The roses were beautiful and smelled amazing. 

I was the envy of the lab- that 's pretty much all I want.

Our little Valentines made out pretty good on the home front too! 

Art kits and unicorns for all!

Pops and Superkid had to throw an etiquette dinner at the church for the youth. The rest of us chomped on cookies and lollipops and painted to our hearts content.

Pyromaniac

How do you know you're a pyromaniac? 

Easy. 

When you try to burn everything you see, that's how you know. 

Exhibit A: Bacon grease paper towel candle

Guilty as charged.

The good news is that it burned for more than 10 hours,
which meant nothing else went up in smoke today  ;)

We don't ever want to let her go.

We love love LOVE our Grandma Sherrie so.

Still not too big for a lap snuggle...

It all ended in an enormous dog pile in an effort to block her from leaving. 

Yes, all you can see is her desperate hand.

We kissed her and hugged her to pieces and with heavy hearts, 

drove her to the airport- 

all the way talking about how amazing it will be to visit her next summer.

We LOVE you Grandma. Thank-you so much for coming!

Parcheesi Champ!

After a week of suffering at the hands of Tadpole, it was decided to pull out the Parcheesi board one last time. This time to gang up on Tadpole and take him down for good.

The kid has been clobbering everyone all week. His strategy is to create a road block and not let anyone pass, while he effortlessly whizzes his remaining players around the board.

Everyone thought it would be simple to block him out if they worked together... But it didin't take long before this kid was grinning from ear to ear as the other players started to stack up behind his blockade.

 If you can't tell, Tadpole has the yellow team.

 And nobody moves past Tad. Nobody.

He is the undefeated champ. Well played son.
