Theatrics

Pops just realized that Jaws has been whipping up a lot of theater to pretend that he is in reading group, but he is actually on YouTube.

Welcome to the Zoom school. 

Jaws puts on his headphones and calls out to Pops that he is popped into his reading group. Then, when Pops walks by "reading group" Jaws quickly raises his hand and says, "I'll read!" and when he gets off the call, he tells Pops how much he likes the class and talks about a story etc.

Meanwhile, the teacher has been emailing (for 2 weeks!) and saying that Jaws has not been showing up for class. 

Pops is convinced that she must have him confused with another kid because he has bought into this performance.

Until today. Pops occasionally wanders through the house to check up on the kiddos. He was doing his rounds when he passed by Jaws, who popped his hand into the air and said, "I'll read!". That's when it clicked for Pops. Pops thought it was a little too coincidental that the teacher was always looking for a reader when he passed by- so he approached Jaws and the gig was up.

This kid is toast. He looks sassy here. But trust me, the kid is toast.

Little Chief is the very happy recipient of a food garnishing kit from Holly. She dropped it off with a huge sack of fruits and vegetables and a garnishing instruction book. It is his lucky day!!!

 

Sicky

While we are not strangers to fevers in January, we are new to fevers in the COVID era. Abz felt cruddy Saturday and popped a fever on Sunday. That means we are all on lock down until she gets tested and hopefully gets cleared.

We were all on pins and needles. Will we get to go back to school and work? Will we be able to participate in the swim season? Will we be able to go to YM/YW activities? Do we have enough milk and bread? Will we ever be able to leave this house again?!

Fortunately the answer came quickly, we found out in just one day-NEGATIVE!

We live another day.

Teacher Tadpole

Tadpole advanced to the office of Teacher in the Aaronic priesthood today. In accordance with the Pandemic, Pops and Superkid ordained him in our own living room during our own sacrament meeting. I love these 3 Priesthood holders. They take good care of our family.

Dates!

This handsome gent was my lunch date today. He insisted on Bertucci's and going INSIDE to eat- even during a PANDEMIC. It was the 2nd time since April that I have sat in a restaurant. He was the perfect date! I actually took the occasion to take each of the kids on a little date during the break. It was so much fun to connect with each of the kids over their favorite feasts.
