January Sledding

It may be 65 degrees outside, but it is still January. 

So sledding it is!

You may say this doesn't look like as much fun, but they did this for hours and I never had to fix a glove or pull snow out of a boot.

Celebrating Davis Genetics

Superkid opted to drive home from one of our friend's house today. He didn't take the most direct path. I let it go for a time- but eventually asked him if he knew where he was going or if he was just enjoying driving and listening to his music. He confirmed it was the later. I told him he came by it honestly. Bampa knows no direct route. His favorite thing to do is to stop for a Coke and just drive and listen to his music. He doesn't even need to be going somewhere. He just likes to drive. Superkid replied, "Wait, you mean because I drive around a lot drinking Coke and listening to music I get to keep my hair?" The kid has never clung to his Davis genes with such vigor.

I'm not timing this meet so I'm clocking the kids from the bleachers.

Pops couldn't help himself- he had a few race tips for Superkid. 

Not only did Superkid have to endure the dad coaching but also the mom picture-taking of the whole affair.

It is everything to watch your daughter CATCH-UP and PASS-BY other butterfliers in the field. It is everything to watch your son anchor a relay and BRING IT HOME.

Mid-Winter Junior Chamber Players Concert

I am so proud of Tadpole. Earlier this year he auditioned for the Junior Chamber Players Orchestra at his school and he was accepted! He is the only 7th grade celloist. Tonight the Junior Chamber Players had their first concert and they knocked it out of the park!

 Tadpole has a lot of cello on his plate right now. Tonight the group played 4 songs, just before Christmas the regular middle school orchestra played 3 songs and he is preparing for a recital with his private teacher. It is really fun to hear how rapidly he is developing his skill.

 The only bad news is that Cold Stone has closed so there won't be the traditional after concert ice cream.

Swim Season

Nothing brings out our Helicopter Parenting like swim season! Normally Pops and I have enough to manage and the kids take care of their own scene. We have a bit of a problem playing it cool. We just LOVE swim season and we just LOVE that Superkid and Abizella LOVE it too! Pops and I met on a swim team. Going to these swim meets brings back so many memories and it is EVERYTHING to us to see our kids race.

Scituate vs. Hingham

I can't tell you how much fun it is to watch these kids race! We are so proud of their improvement and their drive to be faster and better. The only thing we hate is that swim season isn't long enough.

New Year- New Decade

We have much to celebrate as we enter this new decade- so we partied hard.We started out by going to the movies. The girls went to a chick flick- Little Women and the boys went to see the new Star Wars Movie- The Rise of Sky Walker.

Then we went to a party at the Beitler's house. Games food and friends!

We all made it to the ball drop!

And then we had a special visit from Sara Zeller and her cousin.

And of course Pops and I I went to Dana and Lisa's New Year's brunch. 

It was a fabulous start to a New Year and a New Decade!
